Fedhealth Medical Scheme - a company that does NOT really care about you after all

If you are looking for a medical scheme that cares and will assist you in a time of need, I can advise against Fedhealth. This is a BUSINESS, and their business is making money. Forget compassion. Forget service. And they are certainly not family (like they imply in their marketing). After years of paying my Fedhealth subscriptions, when I did eventually require their assistance (for a malignant melanoma removal) they were definitely not forthcoming. So mercenary were Fedhealth that the SURGEON wrote to them, off his own accord(!). Read some excerpts and make up your own mind. His correspondence started: Dear Medical Review Team I am deeply disappointed to hear how you have managed my patient with regards to the melanoma surgery he requires (etc...) and ends with: Should this matter not be resolved by this afternoon, I would recommend that the patient reports your scheme to the Council for Medical Schemes for misconduct and for endangering a patients life (...etc.) Needless to say I have left Fedhealth and am with a more interactive provider that has actual human beings on the phones. Loving it.
