Fedhealth Medical Scheme

I have been on Flexifed 3 for about 8 years. I never reach my threshold and am rather healthy so I hardly use the medical aid. I have been suffering with back pain for quite a few years now. The medical aid paid for Back rehab last year. A month after rehab the pain was back. Finally I have been to a neurosurgeon and his suggestion after x rays and MRI scan is to put pain blockers under anaesthetic. And guess what? This procedure is not covered under my option on the medical scheme. They have the reports and doctor motivation etc. So I pay R4300 per month just for myself for what?????? I contacted the scheme and I was told that I can upgrade to Flexi 4 for R7500 p.m. but only in October. Flexi 3 I see are for young families why they suggested I go on that option at the age of 58 I do not understand.
