Fedhealth: A Frustrating Medical Aid Experience When I finally managed to afford medical aid for myself and my family after years of financial struggle, I expected relief—not punishment. But Fedhealth had other plans.

The Late Joiner Penalty: Punished for Being Poor Because I hadn’t had medical aid for two years (simply because I couldn’t afford it), Fedhealth slapped me with a late joiner penalty. So, after working hard to finally get coverage, I was penalized for not having money before. How does that make sense?

The 3-Month Waiting Period & a Kidney Stone Nightmare I knew there would be a 3-month waiting period before I could claim, and I accepted that. But life had other plans.

December: I suffered from a kidney stone. The government hospital told me it had passed after the pain subsided.

February: The kidney stone returned. Knowing Fedhealth wouldn’t cover me yet, I even offered to pay an additional 6-month penalty to waive the waiting period. They refused.

Back to the government hospital I went—only to be told again that the stone had "passed" once the pain faded.

Fedhealth’s Lack of Compassion Medical aids should provide security, but Fedhealth made me feel like I was being punished for trying to do the right thing. If you’re struggling financially and finally get medical aid, you shouldn’t be:

Penalized for past financial hardship

Denied emergency care due to arbitrary waiting periods

Left with no real options when in pain

Final Thoughts If you’re considering Fedhealth, beware of their strict penalties and rigid waiting periods. There are better, more understanding medical aids out there.

"Your Health Is Our Priority" – A Complete Lie Fedhealth loves to advertise how much they care, but the truth is:

They penalize you for being unable to afford medical aid in the past.

They refuse to assist during waiting periods, even in emergencies.

They’ll take your money but drop you when it suits them.

Where was the "priority care" when I needed it? Nowhere.

Never Again – Fedhealth Doesn’t Deserve Your Money I wasted my time and money on a medical aid that: ✔️ Added financial stress instead of relief ✔️ Denied coverage when I was in pain ✔️ Terminated my policy without real justification

If you’re looking for reliable healthcare coverage, look elsewhere. Fedhealth is only interested in profits, not patients.
