FEDHEALTH FALSELY ADVERTISING!!!!

In November 2020, I app**** for the myfed option (medical aid based on my salary) as I could no longer afford to be on the flexi fed 2 option. Sadly my husband passed away October 2019 and I am a single mother of a son aged 2 years and 6 months.

Back in November / December, when I app**** for the change in medical aid, Medi-Clinic, Doctors (Dr Nieuwoudt, Dr Scott and etc) was included in the package. Sadly, I never took a snapshot to prove that it was included....

January 2021, I wanted to book an appoint to see our GP as my son was not well. I had asked the GP to check if they could get an authorisation from the medical aid. They advised that they are not able to... So I decided to call Fedhealth... After an 1 hour on the phone, shockingly, they told me that the GP's I nominated on my application forms in November 2020 are no longer included in the myfed network. Not only that, Medi-Clinic is also not included in the myfed network....

Worst part is that I never got any notification stating that the GP's I nominated were not included.

On Tuesday, 9th February my son got bad fever (over 39 degrees). Knowing that Medi-Clinic was not included in myfed Network, I took my son to St Helena Hospital. The nurse on duty advised that they do not have a pediatric ward....

I went onto fedhealth website and checked which other hospitals in the free-state is included on the myfed network.... The site stated Universitas Private Hospital.

I rushed my son to Univeristas Private Hospital emergencies, and they assisted me.

On the 10th, after my son was admitted and getting medical attention, I get an sms and email stating that Universitas Private Hospital is not part of the myfed network and that I have a copayment of R12500 to pay...

I phoned fedhealth and explained everything and advised that their website states Universitas Private hospital is part of the myfed network....

The lady responds back to me "sadly our website has not been working since January"

This is not our fault that Fedhealth website is not working.... It is false adverti*****t on their website (which I luckily have a screen shot with the 10th February date on with it stating that Universitas Private Hospital is included in the myfed network option...

The lady at fedhealth also responded that my only option is to upgrade to higher options... I explained to her several times that I was a single mother and the reason for changing to myfed option was I could not afford to pay for higher options and still look after myself and my son....

I asked to speak to the Supervisor, placed on hold for a very long time (also explained that I did not have enough airtime) and that if it gets cut off, that they would need to call me back in order to resolve the issue....

The lady advised that there was no answer by the supervisor and that the technicians have left for the day. I asked if they could please call me back.... Her response was, they do not call back....

I have been with fedhealth for a very long time and this is the worst service I have received and the most ridiculous medical aid in history.... Fedhealth is falsely advertising information and extremely unfair... They have made matters worse for me and put me in so much debt.... NO Supervisor called me back... Completely ridiculous and unfair....
