FedHealth don't give a damn about their customers.....beyond their monthly contributions.

I am genuinely digested at the treatment my 75 year old father received from this scheme recently.

His debit order in December was processed on the 18th instead of at month end as per his arrangement.

I acknowledge many companies try and force their clients to allow them to take their subs earlier in December as most people generally get paid earlier. However in my experience they always require the persons consent.

My father is a pensioner who only receives his monthly pension at month end and thus would not have consented to an early debit....had FedHealth even bothered to ask.

He noted that they had not debited his account at month end and tried to follow up, however their call centre was not particularly helpful.

We then received a communication from a Mr Simphiwe Malaudzi on Wednesday the 6/1/2021 informing us their debit order had been unsuccessful and asking that we settle immediately.

My dad is not to savvy with email and asked that I respond for him. I therefore duly informed Simphiwe of what had transpired and asked if he could assist by running the debit order again.

My father does not have internet banking and I did not want him standing in a que at a branch to make payment to sort out an issue caused by FedHealth and risk being exposed to COVID just because they can't adhere to their own debit order instructions.

I thought this was a reasonable request and was at the very least expecting a response to advise how if possible they could assist.

Instead Mr Simphiwe Mulaudzi responded by informing us that he had suspended my fathers cover due to non payment.

Needless to say this callous and frankly mean spirited response took me off guard.

I have since made payment on my dad's behalf (so I guess Simphiwe's tactic of holding his cover hostage instead of trying to assist a customer asking for help worked).

Well played FedHealth your customer service and the way you treat people asking for assistance or guidance to resolve issues YOU CREATED!!!!!!!! is despicable.

Hi there

Please note you disingenuous "automated" response and promise that one of your consultants would be in touch is absolute ********.

To add insult to injury my father went to collect his chronic medication from his chemist this past weekend on the 15th and was informed his account is still suspended even though I paid your blood tribute on the 8th of January when your organization refused to reprocess the debit order you moved without authorization which started this whole mess!

I am no expert but a payment should not take 7 days to reflect, unless the accounts department that can cut you off with absolute efficiency when no payment is received seems to be completely incapable of reactivating an account once payment is received.....I guess taking away peoples cover indiscriminately takes precedence.

Either way my father actually has a wonderful chemist i.e. the MediRite at Pavillion and they were prepared to supply him his meds while we sort out our "issue" with you.

Your incompetence is now directly endangering my fathers health by potentially denying him access to his meds while you wring your hands and profess false concern and promise to resolve this issue.

So in summary please keep your false platitudes and empty promises and actually sort this out and restore my fathers cover immediately!!!
