Fedhealth does not support cancer patients

Earlier this year I was diagnosed with breast cancer and opted for a double mastectomy with rebuild. At the outset my plastic surgeon advised that I would require a second procedure 3-6 months down the line as not everything could be done at time of mastectomy. It's now those 3-6 months down the line do I have approached my medical aid and they have declined my request. So now I am sitting with an incomplete procedure. My doctor has written motivational letters and my case has gone to Fedhealths appeals board but they have still declined my request stating that it is a cosmetic procedure. I have also written to Bosom Buddies and Cancer SA regarding this and one of them have come back to my stating it's absurd and all her 9 procedures were covered by her medical aid. I am still awaiting a reply from the other. Cannot believe the service nor the response from Fedhealth. I have not dealt with a single person there who has any empathy. Shocking to say the least. I am angered and disappointed beyond words.
