Fedhealth are useless
In July I app**** for membership of Fedhealth, with a commencement date of 1 August. All went well with the application until they sent me a confirmation of membership which now stated that a late joiner penalty had been added. I objected to this as I have consistently been a member of a medical aid for something like 30 years. They said I could only prove 12 years membership and they wanted 13. They would not budge on this. After much back and forth I told Fedhealth that in that case I didn't want to be a member of the scheme as I hadn't agreed to the late joiner penalty. They said that I was already a member and they couldn't cancel the application, they could only terminate the membership. I asked them to go ahead with immediate termination to which they agreed. It was now around 26 July and this last conversation was telephonic. I took this as confirmation that the membership would be terminated.
On 20 August I received a statement from Fedhealth. I queried via email why I received the statement and I did not receive a response.
Today, 2 August, Fedhealth debited my account for the monthly contribution amount.
I am very unhappy with Fedhealth's so-called business processes and I demand termination of the membership, cancellation of the debit order and a refund.
