Family do not take care of Family in the case of FEDHEALTH
It is now month 3 since the start of our recovery / survival from Covid-19 and the battle of the illness is just made worse by the battle of the Medical Aid. It is a simple fact to note that Fedhealth uses the line "Family takes care of family" however in the heart of a pandemic I have spent over 6 hours on call centers, WhatsApp chats and emails.
Motivating appeals against rejections, co-payments, miss processing and then to have a debate over the benefits you have when you are on a plan while I am sitting with the plan brochure in front of me.
I have never felt more used and rejected by a Company like we do now. Fedhealth does not understand or even care about their clients. They are quick to collect premiums and heaven help you if you miss a payment (thankfully this has not happened with us before).
It is confirmed by their senior consultants that Covid-19 they cover 2 tests for Covid-19. Is that what you mean by a PMB? That is neither the definition of the a PMB in the Medical Schemes Act or in the Oxford Dictionary. When you choose to disregard the Government Gazette on PMB in a Global Pandemic I have severe sympathy for the people without the personal savings to be "self-funded" during this time.
In context I have a spouse on continuous oxygen support as per her Specialist Physician & Pulmonologist, severe Comorbidities and Chronic Conditions, yet it has been an endless battle to have the medical aid cover accounts which they are legally obligated to cover. I have reached the point that when I get a bill from a Doctor I send it to them but just pay it as there is no hope in the Medical Aid being that an Aid.
And no in the case of FEDHEALTH... FAMILY ONLY TAKES CARE OF FAMILY WHEN IT IS ECONOMICAL TO DO SO.... if not good luck but we understand and hope you feel better soon.
The principle remains unchanged and the complaint remains very much active.
