Does cancer have an age precursor? According to Fedhealth, it does!
I am so disappointed in Fedhealth like you will not believe. I joined Fedhealth with the precursor that major things are covered. Now, when I need it, I find that it is not covered only because I am too young to have those benefits.
My doctor gave me a referral letter for a Mammogram, and wants me to go ASAP due to certain symptoms, and now I find that I cannot go because Fedhealth deems me underage. I cannot afford to pay that out of my own pocket. I confidently thought Fedhealth supports preventative screening so it would not be a problem. But evidently, if I do not have the means to pay for it, Fedhealth prefers that it grows into full blown breast cancer because I am under 45. Cancer doesn't have an age. It can happen at any age.
When I raise that with them, they say it should come from my savings - my savings only just cover it, meaning I can virtually not do anything else, only because of my age. If I was just a bit older, it would not come from my savings, but would be covered by the scheme. So although I was told this preventative screening was covered, it actually isn't. The customer service team's insensitivity on a potentially terminal illness is shocking.
Therefore, because I cannot afford to pay the cost of the Mammogram myself, Fedhealth seems to feel that I should rather wait and see if it is cancerous and if it grows, even though I have never missed a payment to Fedhealth, and have been a loyal customer until now...
This is it for me. It is time for me to find a better medical aid that is REALLY there for their customers. This is absolutely disgusting and unacceptable. Isn't the medical profession about helping?? How can you claim to help people have healthier lives if you refuse to help them achieve that?? Especially when you are so insensitive about such a serious matter.
There are far better schemes out there than this, that actually want to help people. It has become clear that Fedhealth is only about the money. No consideration for customer needs or customer service. They are clearly insensitive as a customer service group and extremely unreasonable. I will be sharing this terrible experience all over social media. Everyone should know not to use this company. It's a waste of money and the height of disrespect, treating you as a number, not a human being.
