Do not use Fedhealth except you want to pay extra for your benefits included in your premium
Dear Fedhealth. I so wish I could say anything positive about you but there isn’t really anything positive I have experienced with you over the past 12 months. Your call center team conviently forgot to explain how medi vaults work when I fixest signed up, only for me to find out 6 moth s later when a doctors bill was denied. When I called in during June I got a rather unfriendly response to why a bill of R450 is not paid. Always good to know that we the clue ts are the stupid ones and not your untrained employees but at least I got some answers coating me R10k on medical bills on top of what I’m paying. But now we get to the really good part. Over the weekend I fell and injured my knee badly, so when I called in today (must be the only call center for a medical insurance which opens only at 8.30) and asking if my local doctor can do the scans instead of going to the next closes hospital which is 120km away from the little Voten I live in, it was declined as I must go to the casualty even thou it’s 120 km away. When I told your call center agent that I can’t drive 120km with a busted knee, I was very much told that it is my problem. I had to insist for transport but then was offered an ambulance to take me there, which btw cost considerably more than paying the local doctor for a sonar and an x-ray. Then I spoke with your ambulance service provider who was just on happy to take me, however when I asked how I will return, I was told they can’t guarantee it and I’m pretty much left to my own devices to sort out transport back to my own cost of course. I then asked to speak with the consultant again and end up with somebody else whose line was so bad you couldn’t understand a word the person was saying and that persons help was rather limited. Then I called back and wanted to speak with a team leader or manager Wuxi has I was denied by the call center agent as that person can do all the things I need as per that particular person and offered me the same ambulance solution again. When I said that they won’t take me back, it was like, yeah man that your problem!!!! Guess that was the reason why I wanted to speak with a team leader or manager. 45 min later and frustrated I then w ent to my local doctor and paid out of my own pocket ones again for something what is covered by the policy but that’s what Fedhealth wants anyway. Now the best part is that the ambulance would have come only tomorrow as per our the office of our local doctor furthermore my injury does not warrant an ambulance and now I know why Fedhealth employees insist on one, as they could have billed me R6k for the transport one way!!!! Fedhealth you are a **** from the word go: Unlimited GP visits -fail only if you pay half your yearly premium on dotcor bills you are entitled to what is being sold as a benefit, flexible custom plan- fail, any kind of help - fail I have cancelled my membership with Fedhealth after today’s issue with immediate effect and I will not pay another cent as Fedhealth does not stick to their own benefits and Fedhealth!!
Having been on a internationals medical aid for the past 7 years, which by the way is not recognized and experience SA medical aid of if finest over the past 12 months I have to say that Fedhelath is just a massive ******* which will make their clients pay 50% of your yearly contribution before you can get any help or claim is accepted to payment.
I also don’t expect any call from Fedhealth as this would mean that you care about your clients and try to sort your sort comings out.
