Disgusting useless Fedhealth PMB Department

I am absolutely disgusted in the service I have been receiving from Fedhealths PMB Department! If you have a PMB condition, my advice is do not bother with Fedhealth as they couldn't be bothered about the well being of their clients. The Reason; My daughter was born in April with a right clubfoot. I phoned Fedhealth just after she was born to advise them of such and inquire about the treatment cover. They gave me some reference and advised me to just submit the claims. Each doctors visit for the castings cost us R2500 of which there 7 visits. Fedhealth took the money out of my savings which left the savings depleted after 3 visits. Once the casting treatment was done, my daughter had to have the tenotomy operation, Fedhealth did pay all the hospital bills but not the doctors. Then, when my daughter was upgraded to her boots and bar shoes in June, I was advised by the doctor that what Fedhealth was doing by taking money out of my savings was ******* and that this is a PMB condition and should be under a separate risk. When I phoned Fedhealth to ask them, they told me to get a motivation letter from the doctor so they could send it on for approval from their PMB department. I then heard back from them on the 30th June and they approved her condition as a PMB and reimbursed my savings for a portion of the castings. Once all was approved, I then sent them the invoice for the BnB shoes which cost over R12 000, this is where my biggest frustration has come about. It took them over 8 weeks to bother themselves to respond and advise whether they would be paying for these orthopedic shoes. After phoning and emailing and complaining on numerous occasions (with no response yet again), it took me to the point where I threatened to go to the National Health Board for them to bother to respond. Eventually they advised that the shoes had been added to the basket treatment. I then sent a mail thanking them and asking when the claim would be paid. No response, yet again from the useless PMB department. After a couple of weeks of waiting, I phoned to find out what was happening and they couldn't find the claim on the system! Now keep in mind that after all this waiting the provider has threatened to hand me over and I have had to take loans to pay what I can to avoid debt collection. So I resent the claim a week ago and got an approval that Fedhealth would be paying a whopping R1024.50 of the R12 000.00 bill! Now I ask with tears in my eyes, how that helps me at all???!!! Fedhealth has made this whole process a living NIGHTMARE!!! It's hard enough trying to do the best you can for your baby that has this condition and now on top of it you must deal with a bunch of thieving ******!!! Pay your huge monthly contributions but they can't even bother to pay decent amounts on a condition like this. I am on the verge of cancelling my medical aid with Fedhealth and going to Discovery. Perhaps they actually give a rats ass about their members unlike the useless disgusting service received from Fedhealth. If this is the service you will offer in your "Revolution" then I want no part of it!!!

And still no response from Fedhealth a week later. How long does your "be in touch shortly" take? Not good enough Fedhealth.
