DENTIST REF LETTER NOT GOOD ENOUGH, NEED TO GO SEE A GP AFTER WARDS.

Please explain the following to me. I went to the Dentist, he then gave me referral letter for Maxillo Facial Surgeon. When I submitted it to get an auth number to go see the Facial Surgeon, i was told that a GP must give a referral letter. So then I asked the agent, must I now take the Dentist to the GP to explain why i need to go see a Surgeon. The reply "Yes, that's how it works" so you as the medical aid is now going to pay for a GP visit that I feel is not needed as the Dentist already gave a referral. This just feels like waste of money, I just personally feel that you are wasting contributing member fees to this unnecessary GP visit. Any why would some go see a GP for a teeth problem? So in future, i will go to a GP, who will tell me to go to the dentist. Then i must go back to the GP for referral as you don't accept Dentist referrals. 2 X GP charges, 1 dentist charge.... about R1200 wasted...
