Denial of Prescribed Medicines

I suffer from COPD and my doctor wrote a prescription for a pump called Forvent on Monday. I brought the prescription home and phoned Fedhealth for authorisation and they said to copy the prescription and send to them for authorisation which would take up to a week.... I duly sent everything through. I had to return to my doctor for the second time in one day and she prescribed a cheaper pump to help alleviate my problem while awaiting authorisation from Fedhealth.. The cost was R273.90 - but Fedhealth only paid me R164.34 and I had to pay the difference. Shocking - when I am paying these *****s almost R5000 a month - and they can dictate what medicines I can use or not????? The final blow came this morning - DECLINING my doctor's prescription for Forvent... I wonder how these people get away with it - they take all our money every month - but when we are ill and require medicine - they refuse to pay..... I want to hear how they can talk their way out of this....
