Declined coverage for bogus reason

Just more than a year ago my wife joined Fedhealth Medical Aid (Maxima Exec) after returning to South Africa from Saudi. She was excluded for any chronic treatment for a year because of her Asthma, of which she did not have an attack in about 5 years now. Earlier this year, in the 11th month of her exclusion period, she fell sick and was diagnosed with Bronchitis and admitted to the hospital. Fedhealth declined to pay for this admission and resultant treatment because she was still in her exclusion period for Asthma! I am not sure when Bronchitis became Asthma and why there would be two different names for the disease, but it is clear that Fedhealth is just using her Asthma as an excuse not to pay the bill. Even a motivational letter from the Dr did not help. Please be warned that you will pay thousands of rands per month only to be declined for a bogus reason.
