Countryside members beware

I have been with Fedhealth medical scheme for 9 years as a faithful contributor. As I have been blessed with health I have not claimed for all this time. In September this year I had to consult our local doctor as I was ill. The conditions of the plan I am on state that one GP consult of a contracted doctor will be paid by the scheme.<br> <br> I submitted my claim with the other billing for medication etc. expecting to be refunded for the consult only. I explained that we live in a small village where there is only one doctor who is not contracted into any medical schemes as this is a tourist destination. In order to be able to consult with a contracted in doctor I would have to travel 130km which for many reasons would be totally impractical.<br> I was then told that they will not refund as he is a surgeon. Fact: He is a retired surgeon practicing as a GP in our little village. His rates therefore are that of a GP. I do not like arguing and least of all begging for money due to me and wrote to Marilyn Mans after the 3rd refusal that I am not begging but will make sure that people are warned about this when living in the country. <br> Marilyn's emails lack manners and border on arrogance.
