07 Feb 2019, 08:28In addition to this my wife has been told to activate the medivault before any docters claim that has been paid cash by herself or me will be paid am i correct we are now paying back the savings allocated to us what we are currently paying for we do not need any other loan in addition to that. And i am definately not going to pay back the amount of over the counter
After the member has accepted the terms and conditions and on a member’s instruction, the Scheme will transfer an
amount from the member’s MediVault into the member’s Wallet. This transfer activates the member’s loan and the member
will be required to repay the loan in 12 instalments (interest-free). The first instalment will be effective from the first (1st)
day of the month following any transfer of an amount from the member’s MediVault into the member’s Wallet. The member
may instruct the Scheme to transfer any amount (up to the pre-determined maximum or minimum) at any time during the
benefit year (also see General Provisions below)

08 Feb 2019, 14:42This is the first time in my life that i'm told to pay back the savings allocated to us each year in addition to the monthly contribution if it's already included with this years increase that's fine but I am not going to pay more than the current monthly contribution which I can afford for example if the contribution is R 2900 each month throughout the year i'm not going to pay R 400 extra for the allocated saving we receive each year. I'm not interested in a loan nor will we use more savings that's available.

08 Feb 2019, 14:44I have sent in a claim for a Dr I have paid cash but I was told I don't have a savings until we activate the medivault. In other words instead of having savings allocated to us for each year instead we are giving a loan on that savings

08 Feb 2019, 15:27This year Fedhealth informed me that unless i activated theire medivault i do not have any savings for this year, where in the past a certain amount was allocated to us each year. Now that has dissapeared now we are only paying the contributions without any savings, unless we activate the loan option. I'm fine with the current amount available to us on the savings for one year. But all of a sudden i'm paying contributions without any savings in addition to this lets say the amount available in the savings is, R 4000 my contribution R 3000 i'll only pay back the savings if it's part of the contribution in other words the same R 3000 i pay each month i'll accept the yearly medical aid increase like i do each year. But i won't do this R 3000 + 400 = R 3400 the R 400 for the amount of savings i used for example if we use another R 600 of my savings the next month i pay R 4000 toward my medical aid there is no way i'm doing that i'm paying my medical aid not taking out a loan.
The above was sent to the Ombudsman
