After almost 20 years I give up!

<p>After being with Fedsure/Fedhealth for almost 20 years, it's time to move on. Lately there has just been too many insults from their call centre staff, lost claims, fighting for authorisations, refusing to move me to a lower plan due to affordability but add additional family members, no possibility to speak with management, not getting back to you, refusing to add my mom on the scheme because she was 81 years old, etc. etc. etc...</p> <p>And then there is this message from the chat app on their web site on 30 Nov 2016 from Abby - "...I have submitted the termination request on your behalf on ***. An agent will contact you within 3 working days to finalise the process..."</p> <p>So, today 9 Dec 2016, I'm pleased to announce that still no-one from Fedhealth contacted me. I made 4 phone calls to them during the past few hours and held on for between 4 and 13 minutes getting lost in the Interactive Voice Response system and eventually getting cut-off or tired of running up my mobile phone bill.</p> <p>My message is the following:</p> <p>I am quite sure that there are many explanations for my experiences, most (if not all) will be my fault anyway because, as usual, I am just the idiot customer that does not understand how medical aid works.</p> <p>Nevertheless, Fedhealth had many opportunities over the past 3 years to provide me, their loyal customer for 20 years, the service that seperates them from their competitors in the market. I believe that they have done just that - and that is why I will take my business elsewhere.</p> <p> </p>

Reviewer Update

So, checking my email for the first time in 10 days... I find the second "Official business reply" from FedHealth quite offensive, misleading and one big lie!!!

I actually received a phonecall from FedHealth late afternoon on the same day as my original posting on 9 Dec 2016. During this call I provided more details and explained my frustrations. This then happened:

> 10 Dec 2016 - I receive "Termination of Membership" via email.

> 12 Dec 2016 - FedHealth responds to my original HelloPeter post. (see above)

> 23 Dec 2016 - I request an update to the "Certificate of Membership" document because the dates were incorrect - ***.

> 28 Dec 2016 - FedHealth responds for the second time to my HelloPeter post (see above)...

YES, a consultant did contact me on 9 Dec 2016 "investigating" the issue.

NO detailed feedback was provided - unless you consider the following "Membership Terminated" email extract from 10 Dec 2016 as "detailed feedback"

FedHealth writes: "...It is with regret that we confirm your termination of membership with
Fedhealth Medical Scheme.

Just a few important points to keep in mind:

1. As Fedhealth Medical Scheme collects contributions in arrears, your final
contribution will be due at the end of your last month of membership, e.g.,
for a termination effective 31 December, the last contribution will be due
by the 3 January.
2. You may owe the Scheme money at your termination date if you have used
more savings than you have contributed up to your termination date. A debt to the
Scheme may also occur if claims were settled by the scheme for treatment dates
that happened after your termination date. This will be reflected on your monthly
statement.

We attach your membership certificate for your convenience.

Should you change your mind at any time, we will be glad to welcome you back
to the Fedhealth family..."

> 4 Jan 2017 - Still no feedback regarding corrections on the "Certificate of Membership" document. I am now taking issue with this since I cannot sufficiently prove my claim of previous medical aid membership to the newly chosen "medical aid service provider"
