(Actually rated ZERO) A PRACTICAL REVIEW TO HELP OTHERS AVOID THIS HORRIBLE MEDICAL AID

Some PRACTICAL information in this review to help others avoid terrible service, anxiety due to money stress, and debt due to unexpected expenses. This is to the best of my understanding and from my personal experience:

- Horrible service overall from Fedhealth as a scheme as well as their consultants/call center. - Can confirm that they are one of the most expensive schemes with fewest benefits. - Despite you paying your monthly premium to give you coverage using a "Vault" (I was on their top plan), many of your claims are deducted from your "Wallet"; to clarify you must activate and "transfer" funds into your wallet from your Fedhealth vault (which you are paying for with your premium). You pay an additional fee over 12 months on top of your premium to cover these wallet funds. So essentially you are taking a loan and paying off your own claim, and will only in certain instances be covered directly by the medical aid, i.e. vault (remember there is no higher plan to cover this; and they are very expensive even as they stand). - To clarify even further: you pay a premium for coverage; you need to ensure you have access to these funds; you then pay extra on top of that premium for many claims to be covered. - Additionally, your wallet does not even cover everything needed, and funds you have transferred (and are paying off for the 12 months that follow) ultimately expire at the end of the year, regardless of when you have requested to access them in that year (e.g. funds accessed in January end in December; funds accessed in August end in December; payment continues until that same month the following year) - Even if you do not claim (or use) all of those wallet funds by the time that they 'expire' (that you are paying off like a loan) you will still be liable to pay the FULL amount (even after you leave the scheme) even though you actually were unable to use them. In the new year you will need to re-transfer funds and pay this off AGAIN for that year, ON TOP OF the previous years funds. - Furthermore you then get ********** service and incredibly slow responses. When calling in, more than half of their call-center agents don't know what they are talking about, often giving conflicting/incorrect information (for each matter I have needed dealt with I have needed to call Fedhealth myself 2-4 times to get a full and correct understanding of what is happening; often landing up not being able to sort things out).

Needless to say I will NEVER recommend them and am moving across to another medical aid.
