STAY AWAY FROM FASTWAY COURIERS!

Absolutely shocking service! My parcel (an online high value order) was collected in Johannesburg on Monday 3rd, and the tracking info remained the same for 3 days "Your parcel is currently in transit between our 'Johannesburg' and 'George' depots."

I called the George depot on Thursday 6th to enquire why there was no updated tracking info. I was told there had been a delay, and the scanning had not been updated as yet, but that my parcel would arrive in George the next day, Friday, and be sent out for delivery.

I checked the tracking info on Friday morning and was relieved to see my parcel was out for delivery. That relief was short-lived! Friday came and went, with no sign of my parcel. The tracking info still showed as out on delivery. Trying to contact Fastway is not an option. There is no customer service number to call in the event of a situation like this, and they are closed on weekends.

It had not been scanned back into the depot on Friday, so where was my parcel? I come from the courier industry, having worked for international and national companies such as DHL, RTT, and Value Logistics. You NEVER send out a parcel for delivery, and then not update its location if it is not delivered. That is how parcels go missing! Was my parcel kept somewhere in the courier vehicle over the weekend? Was it returned to the depot on Friday but not scanned back onto the floor? Scanning parcels seems to be a challenge for Fastway.

I stressed the entire weekend, unable to contact anyone at Fastway to establish the whereabouts and safety of my parcel. 8:32 am on Monday morning 10th, and my numerous calls to the George branch went unanswered. The tracking info updated at 7:40 am showed my parcel was once again out for delivery.

At 4:24 pm Monday afternoon, there was still no sign of my parcel. This time my call to the George depot was answered. My parcel will only be delivered on Tuesday. Okay, so explain to me how it has TWICE been scanned as out on delivery? Where has my parcel been all this time?

Oh, it actually never left the George depot, ever, in spite of the tracking info stating otherwise? ***?? Apparently some lady with a bakkie is their third party contractor to my area, and she had vehicle problems, and blah, blah blah, it was a long list of excuses. The mind boggles at how this company is still even in business.

It is not surprising then that the sender I ordered from is cancelling their contract with Fastway and moving to The Courier Guy. I wouldn’t trust Fastway to deliver an empty cardboard box! Stay away. I am only giving 1 star because the system won't allow me to post without a selection. I actually give minus 5 stars.
