Pathetic service and broken promises
On 25 August I was notified by email of a package that is out for delivery by Fastway. On 25 August I received another email that they were unable to deliver stating that they were unable to locate the consignee. On 26 August I called the Johannesburg call centre and they mailed the Vereeniging depot from which the final delivery had to be dispatched. I recived a mail from the Vereeniging depot in which delivery the next day (27 August) was promised. At 10:55 on 27 August I received an email that the packace is out for delivery. It was not delivered. On 28 August at 8:56 I received another email stating that the package is out for delivery. By 16h00 no delivery has been made. I called Johannesburg call centre and they advised that they would get back to me. Vereeniging depot called me shortly after and gave me the driver's telephone number to call directly and enquire. I called the driver and he told me that delivery would not take place on 28 August as he fell behind on his deliveries. He promised that delivery would take place before 10am on 29 August. At 9:50am and at 5 minute intervals I tried to call the driver, but he did not answer the calls. I sent a WhatsApp message, which remains unanswered 25 minutes later. This means that I will have to sit waiting the whole day for someone that most probably (based on history) will not turn up. This is the most pathetic service I have been exposed to in a long time. I live in a rural area, but the address is a normal street address in a main road and with a clear number on the gate. Literally a 100 deliveries have been successfully made to this address by many courier companies, including Fastway. All of a sudden they cannot locate the address.
