Non functional incubator
On July 27, 2023, we made a purchase of an automatic incubator from Delta Incubator 360, but unfortunately, our experience has been far from satisfactory. The product's performance did not align with the specifications provided. Notably, the incubator proved unsuitable for turning over goose and turkey eggs, resulting in substantial egg losses. Moreover, it required constant insulation with foam, which complicated the essential task of periodically checking hatched eggs. The wires connecting the egg-turning trays had recurrent contact issues, making it challenging to maintain proper temperature and humidity.
The situation deteriorated further on September 25 when the incubator ceased turning eggs in one of the trays, resulting in damaged eggs and financial losses. Thankfully, we are within the warranty period, which extends until January 2024. Consequently, we reached out, requesting either a repair or a refund. To our dismay, after sending the incubator back to the company, we were informed that replacement or a refund could only occur within the initial 7 days from the purchase date. Despite a month-long exchange of emails with Takealot (all documented), our efforts were futile. Ultimately, Takealot declined both options, even threatening to withhold the incubator if we didn't accept its return.
In response to this challenging situation, we had to acquire a replacement incubator, as the egg-hatching process could not be delayed. As a result, we insist on a full refund of the incubator's total cost and request an apology for the considerable emotional and financial distress incurred. Regrettably, we cannot recommend Delta Incubators for business use, and we are deeply disappointed by Takealot's disregard for consumer protection laws and apparent lack of concern for its customers.
