Frustrated Receiver (Inconsistent story from Courier regarding the delivery of parcel)

Good Day,

I would like to lay a complaint against Fastway Couriers (Cape Town depot). I sent 2 bottles of perfume (Tom Ford Black Orchid and Lacoste) from Johannesburg to Cape Town through them. The parcel arrived in Cape Town, however the courier guy called Edmond delivered the parcel to the wrong house. I got Edmond's number from Vanessa who works at the Cape Town Depot and I called Edmond. Edmond was very defensive and he could not even describe the house he dropped he parcel off at. He then kept changing his story saying that the wrong address no 63 instead of no. 66 was written on the parcel and there was no one at the house so he went next door where a lady shouted for a guy at the back who is called Sipho who then signed for the parcel. When asked to describe Sipho, Edmond is not able to do so. I then ask him to go back to the house to retrieve the parcel so that he can take it to the correct house. Again, defensive, he refuses and says the company should authorise that he return to the house. I then call Vanessa who claims to 'authorise' that Edmond return to the house. Edmond then calls Esme (the receiver) to tell her to go to the house herself to retrieve her parcel which she naturally refuses because that is not her job and Edmond is the one that made the blunder. The Fastways Johannesburg Agent (Mpho) then investigates the whole case and finds that the address was not incorrect on the parcel and that indeed Edmond made a mistake. However, Fastways is not willing to accept responsibility for this blunder and Esme still has not received the parcel. I logged an online enquiry and so did Mpho but we still have no joy. Today I receive and email to say that Esme picked the parcel up from the depot but Esme confirms that this is not the case. Then Mpho (the Fastways agent in Johannesburg) forwards me an email sent to him from Vanessa advising him that Esme went to Sipho's house to collect the parcel. The stories do not match which means nothing has been done to resolve this matter.

I have proof of all correspondence with Fastways including an invoice indicating that the address was indeed not incorrect.

They are all defensive and are not coming up with a solution to this matter while I, the sender and Esme the receiver remain frustrated by this whole matter. Those perfumes are not cheap and we need to be refunded as soon for both the perfume and the courier services.

Kindly assist please.

Thanks,
