Fastway - Slow Way or No Way?

I have had to deal with Fastway couriers a number of times recently and each occasion has been an extremely frustrating experience. At this stage I would not recommend Fastway Couriers.

On the first instance, I ordered two lights from Cape Town. The lights were packaged separately and given two different tracking numbers due to their size and were collected on the same day by Fastway. However, one light arrived 4 days before the other and I had to constantly phone and follow up on the location of the second light as it kept bringing up on the tracking page that it was "Waiting in the Grey Zone for Delivery". Then when the courier contacted me to deliver (bearing in mind I had paid for door-to-door delivery) he said he can't find my location and will leave it at a nearby business. Not only is this not what I paid for, but I had not even had the opportunity to phone and ask the business if that was okay for them to accept a parcel on my behalf. The second parcel was then automatically delivered to this same business and the courier never contacted me to deliver at this address or to change the address. Again, embarrassed, I had to go to this business to get my parcel.

Now I am trying to track another parcel NA *** which according to my tracking page says was picked up in Durban on 21.10.2019 and to date (29.10.2019) is still sitting in Durban "Waiting in the Grey Zone for next Scheduled Delivery". It has now been there a week. I have phoned the Durban Fastway Branch and spoken to Precious who advises that the parcel is in PMB. I must phone them. I get the contact number from Precious and it is not answered. I phone the Durban branch back and speak to Precious again, I get another number, *** and the number goes straight to voicemail. I phone Durban Branch again and speak to Rizwana who advises that the parcel is not in Durban, but in Pietermaritzburg (despite the tracking page telling me otherwise) and get another contact number for PMB branch - ***. This number rings a few times and goes to voicemail.

I have now phoned Fastway in Durban AGAIN, and spoken to Precious AGAIN. She asked me to hold on the line which she phones the Pietermaritzburg branch to connect me. I politely hold the line. When Precious picks up my call again, she advises that no one in PMB is answering the phones.

This is beyond pathetic! This parcel has taken over a week to come from Durban to Pietermaritzburg, and it still has not been delivered to me in Dalton! How long will I have to wait for this parcel? Secondly, I am left wondering again whether it will be delivered to my door as I paid for and requested, or whether the lazy courier is going to just drop it off at the local business that he has previously used simply because he doesn't want to drive the extra 10km out of Dalton to deliver to my door.

Fastway needs to pull their socks up and FAST!
