FAIS ombudsman complaint was handled poor
I lodged the complaint with FAIS ombudsman on 25 September 2020. The complaints it’s against FNB. On the same day the complaints was logged FNB asked for additional information and I provide such. Few day later they acknowledged my complaint but the manner in which their acknowledgment letter is written confuses me. So I write back to the office of FAIS ombud to seek clarity. They ignore my email all this time and only come back to me on 09 December 2020. When they return to me they state that the complaint is out of their scope. It takes them four months to figure out such and we must have trust in the institution of the Goverment that was established to protect public. Then you are asked to rate service using multiple pdf sheets. Now they refere me to the ombudsman for banking who expect me to fill in a new form just for me to register a claim that is already served to one of their own. To be honest I never agreed to this system were ombudsman office receive grants from the same banks or insurance companies. Banks and insurance company pay their salaries and we expect them to be objective? . You can see the ombudsman for banking list is exhausting and requires me to have a written documents rejection from FNB. The very same FNB told me they have escalated my complaints to their manager and compliance office and they refused with the contact details of the very same department. That means I have already lost this case and banks knows all this tricks to avoid valid claim with ombudsman for banking.
