PLUMBING, CUPBOARDS AND REPAIRS

After water damage in my apartment in my absence, I gave Zonnevern Barnard permission to claim from the insurance on my behalf to have all the cupboards replaced that was damaged. He insisted that the insurance pay into his bank account, and I again gave permission as he was also the person to do the plumbing and put replace and fit new cupboards as per the assessor's advise. This happened in December 2021, he never delivered. Then I asked him for photo's of the new cupboard. He came back with a story that the place is wet, that he cannot do anything. At the same time, he said he is only going to fix the places that got damaged. I insisted that his quote spesified REPLACEMENT of all cupboards. He agreed but then said I must look at the measurements of the material he spesified and that only covers the damaged areas. I insisted that he replace the cupboards. He went back and started working. My tenant phoned me and said that he is just putting cover boards on. On arrival at the apartment, I found a lobsided effort to a bathroom cabinet that is totally not workable on the premises, as well as a board that he fitted to the side of a damaged cupboard to cover up the damaged wood, as well as a flat plate in the back of the cupboard, to cover op the water damaged back of the cupboard. I stopped his work and said I want my money back and said he can deduct for time and material. But he went quiet. This is a warning to people out there. To my tenants he said he did not have money to buy the wood, to me he told me he was very sick... not able to work. He is not trustworthy.
