Concern About ****s on Facebook Marketplace
Dear Facebook Marketplace Team,
I’ve reported multiple posts that are clearly *****ulent, yet I frequently receive responses stating, "We didn’t remove the post." This approach creates the perception that ****mers are allowed to operate freely on the platform, which undermines trust in Facebook Marketplace as a safe and reliable space for users.
For instance, I’ve come across listings such as:
A BMW M3 (2013 model) for R240,000 by "Thabile." A 2018 BMW X6 3.0 for R100,000 by "Mbali Simthandile." An E46 M3 listed at R42,000 — all clearly suspicious. These listings are unrealistic and raise red flags for *****, yet they remain active.
I strongly suggest implementing stricter verification processes, such as a FICA or identity verification system, before allowing users to list high-value items. This would significantly reduce ****s and improve the safety and credibility of your platform.
Facebook has a responsibility to protect its users, and stronger measures to prevent *****ulent activity would align with this commitment.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I hope to see meaningful changes soon.
