Breach of contract - Express Removals went back on their agreement

<p>I’m currently renting storage space from Express Removals in Montague Gardens. On Thursday 08/12/2016 I went to Express Removals to store some things & remove some things from storage. The storage space I rent according to my storage contract with Express Removals is supposed to be 1 unit =4mx2mx2.6m. I got this space when I originally rented the space 1 year ago. The storage unit consists of wire mesh cages. When I arrived there on Thursday 08/12/2016 I found that Express Removals had built a Mezzanine floor and moved all my furniture to the mezzanine floor without notifying me or my permission. The fact that they touched my things and went through my things is an invasion of my privacy. I had to climb up an aluminium ladder that was wedged at a 45 degree angle between the wall and the mezzanine floor. The cage that I was given is not even 2 metres wide. My furniture was packed in such a manner that I couldn’t get to my things. There was no wire mesh covering my furniture so anybody could walk in & take whatever they wanted. There were quite a few cages that were unlocked. In the beginning whenever my husband or I went there one of the staff of Express Removals would accompany us to our cage, unlock it in our presence and document whatever we brought in to be stored and what we removed. This did not happen on 08/12/2016. I noticed that my dressing table had been damaged. A corner piece of wood was broken which wasn’t broken before. Because I couldn’t get to my things I have no idea what condition the rest of my furniture is in or if all my things are there. On the 01/12/2016 my rent was increased but the space that I’m now getting is smaller than what is listed in the contract & isn’t secure. I couldn’t see any CCTV cameras on the mezzanine floor yet they advertise that they have CCTV cameras. I’m placing a copy of this on Facebook and Twitter. People that are currently renting space from Express Removals need to check their storage units that their furniture was moved & that some of the cages are not locked. I will be looking for other storage space in the new year. I’m also seeking legal advice as they’ve broken my trust & they went back on their agreement.</p>
