Removal of outdated information
Confusing information
Kindly clarify why the consultant from Experian explained to me that default will remain on your credit profile for a year whether they are paid up on not,the reason I’m asking is that Transunion has a different narrative which is default are removed from your profile if accounts are paid up and and confirmation by means of paid up letters has been received,in my case in October 2021 I paid up two accounts which were in arrears,Experian updated them as closed but did not removed the defaults from my profile, and I get declined when I apply for credit 3 credit reports later/3 months,is there a way Experian can remove the defaults since the accounts are closed

28 Jan 2022, 12:45And another thing, why do you keep information about missed payments on a closed account ,the consultant told me information will be kept for up to a year, why is it so ,I feel like it’s somewhat discouraging to the consumer, imagine working hard to settle accounts only to find you cannot get credit because Compuscan /Experian has information on arrears of closed accounts it’s just doesn’t sit well
