Prescribed Accounts Still Listed – No Action, False Closure of Case

I emailed Experian on 2 April 2025 regarding multiple prescribed accounts that are still ********ly listed on my credit profile. These include:

Wonga (via Nimble Group) – Account No: *** – Prescribed April 2022 African Bank (duplicate listing) – Account No: *** – Prescribed DMC (creditor unclear) – Account No: *** – Prescribed

Despite clear documentation confirming prescription, my ticket was dismissed and closed — with Experian claiming that the matter had been “fully investigated” within 21 days. That is completely false. If any real investigation had occurred, they would have confirmed that the Wonga account prescribed over three years ago, in April 2022. We’re now in May 2025.

I only received a response on 21 May 2025, nearly seven weeks later, and it failed to resolve or even properly address the issue.

I’ve also been trying to reach Experian by phone for two days without success. This is not just unprofessional — it is a violation of Section 126B(1)(b) of the National Credit Act, which clearly states that prescribed debt may not be collected or listed.

I have reported Experian to the National Credit Regulator (NCR) and expect a formal intervention soon. This must be resolved immediately.
