Misleading Credit Score & No Real Assistance
My credit score is over 600 on Experian / ClearScore. I regularly get adverti*****ts on ClearScore suggesting that I apply for a Nedbank loan of R400,000. Based on this, I went to Nedbank.
To my surprise, Nedbank told me there is a credit score issue. I showed them my score, but they insisted that it was impossible to be flagged on such a score, and that affordability was not the problem.
On 23 July, I contacted Experian and spoke to Laura via email. She told me to go back to Nedbank and try again as “everything is fine” on her side. Unfortunately, the problem remains unresolved.
I feel Experian is not actually assisting customers and that the advertising is misleading. It is also nearly impossible to reach someone at Experian who is willing to investigate and provide real help.
This has been extremely frustrating, and I believe Experian / ClearScore should take responsibility for the false impressions created and provide proper support to customers.
