*********** INVESTIGATION INTO A FACTUAL DISPUTE
I lodged a dispute with Experian after Vodacom negatively impacted my credit score by listing an alleged outstanding account that I dispute both in principle and in amount. After unsuccessful attempts to resolve the matter directly with Vodacom, I paid the amount solely to prevent any further adverse impact on my credit profile. However, I maintained my position that the debt was disputed and accordingly submitted a formal dispute to Experian.
Throughout this process, Laura De Carvalho has repeatedly requested that I provide a letter from Vodacom confirming that I did not owe the account. I have explained multiple times that this is unrealistic, as Vodacom's position is that I did owe the debt, despite being unable to clearly explain the basis for the alleged account or amount claimed. It therefore follows that Vodacom is highly unlikely to issue a letter contradicting its own position.
The continued insistence, now for the third time, on obtaining the same document suggests a failure to properly understand the nature of the dispute and the practical impossibility of complying with this request. As a result, the dispute process has been frustrating, unproductive, and has left me with little confidence that my concerns have been meaningfully considered.
