I'm not in debt but I can't get credit

Hi Hellopeter,

I had outstanding debt which I settled last year August and the account was removed from my profile. However, a year later I'm still struggling to get credit from retails/ banks. My recent credit application was to Truworths and I have no idea why they declined me credit. My credit score has remained 586 for a while now due to not having a credit card or a store account. I would like ExperianSA to identify the reason why I can't get credit because I'm no longer in debt, I want to start building my credit again, as I was told I need to start with a small account and build my way up. Please help.
