Experian’s Scoring System Makes Absolutely No Sense

I am extremely frustrated with Experian’s unrealistic and unreadable scoring system. My credit score recently dropped despite there being absolutely no negative activity on my profile. No missed payments, no new debt, no increased balances, no defaults — literally nothing changed, yet my score somehow decreased.

How does a scoring system punish consumers for maintaining stable and responsible credit behaviour? It completely defeats the purpose of monitoring and improving your credit profile. Consumers are expected to trust these scores when applying for finance, but the calculations seem inconsistent and impossible to understand.

What makes this worse is that there is little to no transparency on what actually caused the drop. If there is no negative activity, why is the score decreasing? A credit bureau should provide accurate, logical, and fair scoring — not random fluctuations that negatively impact consumers for no reason.

Experian seriously needs to improve the transparency and reliability of its scoring model because at this point it feels unrealistic and unreliable.
