Experian’s Refusal to Remove Prescribed Debt Despite Creditor Confirmation
Experian South Africa’s continued listing of a prescribed debt on my credit profile, despite clear written confirmation from the original creditor that the account is legally prescribed. The creditor has formally confirmed that the debt is prescribed. Furthermore, other registered credit bureaus have already removed the listing from my profile. Despite being provided with this evidence, Experian continues to reflect and/or update the prescribed account. This conduct is deeply concerning and appears to constitute: Non-compliance with the National Credit Act Failure to properly investigate disputed information ******** processing of inaccurate personal information under POPIA Ongoing prejudice to my credit standing

I previously raised a dispute with Experian South Africa regarding a debt listed on my credit profile that had been legally prescribed. Despite initial challenges, including providing written confirmation from the original creditor, the matter has now been resolved in my favor. Experian has updated my credit report accordingly. I’m pleased that the issue has been corrected.
