Experian you really do suck.

I never felt the need to write a review before today.

E-mailed Experian and TransUnion on 17 June 2025. Both with the forms to dispute an erroneaous entry on my credit record and have it removed.

I've been waiting 5 years for Home Affairs to approve my permanent residence (that's another story for another day) but the point is that I don't yet have a SA ID, which means I cannot register on any of the credit bureaux websites, and getting a credit report without an SA ID is practically impossible.

TransUnion dealt with the dispute quickly. They sent a copy of my revised credit report. Good job.👍

It's now end of August. Experian Consumer Care did nothing for 2 months. I e-mailed many times. Their standard response is to suggest I register on their website and speak to "Ed". I rep**** multiple times to say it is not possible to register, or speak to "Ed", or whatsapp, or anything except e-mail, without a SA ID.

Eventually, they respond to my mail with a case number suggesting I register on the website. When I reply to say I cannot register, they responded by suggesting I register on the website and closing the case number which is now "resolved".

I send a horrible e-mail. I get a call from the team leader. She suggests I register on the website. She seems suprised it can't be done without a SA ID. She promises to call me back and, of course, doesn't.

I call again today and wait the 25 minutes. The poor guy doesn't have access to the case history. He wants to put me through to the team leader, who's name I gave him. I hold. After 3 more minutes, I'm cut off the call.

I record my calls Experian. I can post them here if you would like. They can be used for training purposes, or together with my e-mails, for legal purposes. I don't mind which.

20 days you say... That was 70 days ago.

Reviewer Update
Experian acknowledged receipt of my original mail on 19 June 2025. There was no follow up or request for further information subsequently, and my chaser e-mails resulted only in automated replies and were ignored.

The e-mail I received after posting this review, informing me that the dispute had been resolved was dated 10 September 2025. That's not 10 days. It's nearly 3 months!

I assume the resolution is true, although a credit report has not been sent to me as I requested, and I cannot access one, because I do not have a SA ID.
