Experian SA below Mediocre

Hi there

I am a hereby expressing my dissatisfaction with experian services. Institutions such as Experian, TransUnion and other similar plays a crucial part in our lives and economy at large because they deal with sensitive information that affects our financial lives directly. However, I am disgusted by the services rendered by Experian SA.

I am owing company X (I will use X because I have called then and dissolved the matter in an appeasing manner), I was owing company X R2 100 and through phone calls we have made an arrangement of paying R300 amount of money now I am left with R600 (because they acknowledge their mistake now they said I must pay R300 to settle off the debt).

I do not know who failed but according to Experian via Clear Score I haven't made any payments towards my credit and that affected my credit score (-23) I lodged a complaint in December 2022 whereby they responded with questionnaire to fill which I did. I went to their website directly and lodged the complaint which is lodged twice. They said should they need anything they will contact me so I assume every evidence and questions they sent was met with satisfactory. I did sent my bank statements to prove the deduction.

In their response they made me feel like I was taking things out of proportion their response to the matter was filled with "ifs" and mostly generalisation. One of their responses was (if you made a payment day later it will reflect as missed) I mean my bank statement has proof and consistency thereof. Their response was not directly answering why am I declared as non payer whilst I have been paying if I was non payer how come my debt be reduced from R2 100 to R600 I mean that's the point of reference when doing the investigation not give me the lousy "ifs" whilst my credit score has drastically decreased.

Their what ifs even belittled the evidence brought before them. These institutions must account, they can not take the onus of being middle-man between credit institutions and clients but will show no appetite to look at the matter thoroughly. I lodged the complaint with them first because its them who award credit points so they can amend their judgement but this was below mediocre work.

I contacted company X with the same evidence via WhatsApp they admitted the mistake and offered to reduce my debt as a show of remorse from R600 to R300 and send they will send information to Experian.

If Experian doesn't have the capacity or the appetite to investigate matters thoroughly they should remove 'dispute' on their website or exit the industry. I expect them to be nonbias and provide most ethical and professional work and when the discrepancy arise it must be dealt with accordingly not lousy 'ifs' your ifs are denting someone's image here

 Good day

We would like to offer our apologies for the inconvenience caused in this matter.

Please advise if you made internal arrangements to pay a smaller amount than the original  amount this arrangement is not to take legal action by the creditor. The true reflection needs to be displayed on your credit profile as per NCR act. If this is not the case please provide us with the statements from the date you are disputing reflecting that the account was not in arrears.

Or you can contact the creditor to send manual amendment request to have the account bad history cleared.

Regards,
Customer Relations Centre

Best regards,
