Experian Not Removing Debt Review Status – NCR Non-Compliance
I am extremely dissatisfied with the service received from Experian South Africa regarding the removal of my debt review status.
My Debt Review Clearance Certificate (Form 19) was submitted on 10 February 2026. In terms of National Credit Regulator (NCR) guidelines, this update should be completed within 21 business days. However, well beyond this timeframe, my credit profile still reflects that I am under debt review.
There has been no proper communication or resolution from Experian. The explanation that the DHS system is offline is not acceptable, especially when there is an alternative system (CBA) available that allows updates within 3–5 working days.
This delay is causing serious prejudice to me as a consumer, negatively affecting my credit profile and limiting my ability to access financial services.
I expect the following to be addressed urgently:
Immediate removal of the debt review status from my profile Written confirmation once the update has been completed A clear explanation for the delay and failure to comply with NCR regulations
If this matter is not resolved urgently, I will escalate it further with the NCR, the Credit Ombud, and pursue additional action if necessary.
Consumers should not have to fight for compliance with clearly defined regulations.
