Completely helpless

Completely no legal Please can someone help me understand how it is legal for this company to take my personal details without any judgement or any proof and place me on a blacklist for all to see and negatively influence my credit score? I had an Edgars 6-month interest-free account with Edgars after Edgers went bankrupt RCS took over the accounts and just decided without any new contract or any legal action that they will now add monthly interest to my account. RCS also just put me on Experian because I didn't pay the interest that was put on my account. How can any of this be legal?

 Good day

We would like to offer our apologies for the inconvenience caused in this matter.

You are kindly reminded that you have the option of referring this feedback to the National Credit Regulator and/or the Credit Ombudsman.
An entity who buys doubtful debt from another entity is required to be registered with the NCR as a registered credit provider.  RCS is registered.
There is no legal requirement for the new credit provider to notify a consumer before reporting an account to the credit provider, unless they are submitting that account as adverse, being either HANDED OVER or WRITTEN OFF.  These listings appear in an “ADVERSE BLOCK” on the consumer’s profile.  The credit provider is however legally required to report the account when it acquires it.
Experian can:
Remove the account if it falls outside of the legal 5 year retention period which is calculated from the date of the last event – mostly this is payment.  This account does not qualify for legal removal under this condition.
Close the account if it has prescribed once the dispute has been resolved.
Experian therefore has no legal grounds for removing this account.  If there is an issue with making payment arrangements with RCS, this must be referred to the NCR.  The credit bureau cannot solve for this and it may not remove an account on these grounds.
 Regards,
Customer Relations Centre

Best regards,
