DISGUSTING SERVICE!!

On the week of the 17th July I contacted Lynette from Excuss Logistics regarding transporting my goods from Johannesburg to Cape Town, Lynette asked me what it was that I wished to transport, I advised her of the main items on my transportation list. She than quoted me an amount of R2800 and advised that I email her and request a quote.

In that week I emailed Lynette and requested the transportation services of her company. I received a quote back with an amount of R3000 which was R200 more than the initial mention amount when I contacted her, none the less I accepted the quote and paid 10% on the invoice totalling R300.

This payment was to secure a pickup truck for the 30th July as that would be the day I move out in my apartment. The scheduled time for pickup was 7 am.

On the day of the pickup there was no truck at 7am and I had to contact the number on the website for Paul on 011 ********** who advised that he was only making his way then to pick up the truck, at 8am I contacted him again in which he confirmed my address and advised he was on his way, at 9am he still had not arrived. I contacted Lynette on 011 ********** who contacted someone else to pick up my stuff, at only 10 am did a driver arrive to collect my things 3 hours later. I requested that he bubble wrap, the TV, Tv stand,2x wall art and fridge . He advised they charged R50 per bubble wrap and the rest of the items would be covered with blankets for protection.

On the day of the 1 August at 9am Lynette contacted me to inform me that I had extra items which added up to R2500, which I found extremely bizarre as the only extra items on the list included;

1. Camp chair

2. Ironing board

3. 1 ottoman

4. 1 box of blankets

5. 1 big suitcase

It was strange that these light items would amount to a total more than half the price of the initial load. I Asked to contact her back to which I did, at 9:45 am on the 1 August I contacted Lynette back and advised that the quoted amount could not be accurate to which again, she reverted me to Paul,

Paul did not answer my call from the airport leaving Johannesburg for Cape Town.

On the 1st of August when I landed in Cape town and when the truck was due to arrive in Cape town, it was not there, I had to contact Paul again in which he told me he had a delay and the truck would only arrive on the 2nd of august at 1am, this caused a lot of pressure and anxiety on my part as I had an apartment with absolutely nothing in it, as a result I had to book a night at Road Lodge opposite the airport and incur a financial loss of R630.

When I asked Paul why I had not been informed of the delay he responded; “you wanted me to call and tell you there was no petrol on the way” this clearly reflected his lack of understanding that any delay on the road would affect me and the delivery of my furniture, therefore it was important that I was informed. I then contacted Lynette and advised her of my displeasure and she advised I call her manager Promise on 073 ********** , who advised there was nothing he can do, I then advised him that I would deduct the cost of the Road Lodge for that night from the total amount due to them for the transportation of my goods (R2700) in which he said I cannot do that, but did not give me an alternative solution.

On the Morning of the 2 August the truck had still not arrived.

After continuous contact with Lynette, Paul and even Promise throughout the day, with total calls totalling at 11 by the conclusion of the day, the truck finally arrived at 10pm.

Upon arrival Promise demanded the total payment of R5000 before offloading my furniture. This was the cost of R2500 extra items+ 27000 initial moving cost- a pathetic 200 for my troubles and the delay, which was not even equivalent to the cost I had to incur to sleep at a Road lodge the night prior due to non-delivery.

I advised Promise that I had not received the invoice and cost breakdown for the additional R2500, I contacted Lynette 4 times with no answer, it started to rain and Promise refused to offload anything.

He demanded the full payment, when I asked what the 2500 included he said he did not know but that was the amount requested so I should pay for it.

At 00:00am my stuff was still not in the apartment. I then contacted my bank for a temp loan in which I made payment of the R5000, even after payment Promise had the audacity to demand various proofs of payment. At 1am that morning the guys offloaded my luggage to my terror only two items were bubble wrapped, Tv and the fridge.

As a result A LOT of my items were damaged,

1. My bed has a tear on it

2. My stand has 5 paint chip’s on it

3. My wall art has paint stains on it

On the 3rd of August I emailed Promise pictures of my damaged items and requested feedback. I received none. On the 3rd of August I than contacted him at 10am requesting feedback, he advised he would respond to my email, but nothing was done. At 11am I called Lynett and requested an invoice for the 5000 I had paid, I received the invoice with R1000 bubble wrap and R1500 extra items.

I only received 2 bubble wrapped items, so how could it amount to R1000 and the 5 light items mentioned above would amount to R1500? How?

I advised Lynette of the email I sent to Promise regarding my damaged things and advised her I needed an urgent response to it, I then resent the email and cc’d Lynette on it. This was on the 3rd, and I followed up again on the 4th of August. To date 11th August I still have not received ANY feedback.

My desired resolution;

· Compensation for my damaged goods

· Refund for the R630 I incurred as a result of your non delivery and my need to sleep at a Lodge

· Refund for the bubble wrap as not all items were wrapped

· Refund as the extra items in no way amounted to 1500

Today is the 30th August and i still have not received a cent back.
