Exclusive Books needs to step up!

<div>I am an avid reader and like to give books as gifts. As tastes differ, I prefer giving vouchers as that ensures that the person who receives the voucher obtains the book of choice. As vouchers are high in price, I think it is only fair to obtain points on my loyalty Fanatics card. I have spoken to numerous assistants at the book stores, who happen to agree with my sentiments but unable to assist me in this regard. Attached is the correspondence between me and Exclusive books. I am sure many enthusiastic readers will find their reasoning for not awarding credits to be preposterous. We regard the purchase of gift vouchers as an exchange of tender (“cash for cash”) and not the purchase of goods. Our Fanatics programme only awards points for the latter: you earn when you buy books and other products, but not when you convert your money into a voucher that, in turn, can be used to buy books and other products. If we did it differently, then customers could earn Fanatics points at twice the rate of everyone else, simply by using vouchers or gift cards that they purchased: that is, they would earn points upon purchasing the voucher/gift card, and then again when redeeming it, effectively earning double rewards for a single purchase.
