Exclusive Books exclusively poor service online
Cannot load an online voucher - the website churns away. Tried phoning both local toll-free and international helpline numbers and get "Your call cannot be completed at this time". Really.

27 Sept 2021, 17:48Further to the above, drove Hout Bay to Constantia today to EB to ask them for help, and got turned away with a phone number that also doesn't work, supposedly 'IT'. After 45 minutes phoning every EB number I could get hold I eventually got hold of a person in accounts who once again referred me to 'IT'. When I said the number just rings off she promised they would phone me. That of course did not happen. No surprises there.

28 Sept 2021, 09:55Eventually.... I sent a stinking email to EB yesterday. It was automatically logged and I received an autoreply. Of course your standard EB log on doesn't work on the care site, you need to set up a new profile and password, just as added irritation. Still no return call this a.m., and no "agent assigned yet". But I got the call from Zack, promised yesterday. Thank goodness, at last a personable human and he tried to load the gift voucher number, couldn't, but did phone back again to report success. I told him he'd made my month, not just my day. So 15 days after the fact, my gift voucher is finally loaded and I can use it. Ra ra Zack. He's at *** if you need help. Phone him directly.
As for the books... You can't view book content on the EB website. I had built up a wishlist by looking online at books on Amazon, finding cool books, and then checking on the EB site to see if available. I eventually listed 5 books after a process that took some 3 hours. This morning, now that I can finally use my voucher, 2 of those books are now listed as unavailable, so it's back to comparing on Amazon.
Never will set foot in EB again. And will become their worst ambassador ever.
