Worst Experience ever buying a car.

I boight a 2018 Ford Focus Trend November 2022. Had problems from the beginning. Needed to replace the battery in January. February the car broke down. The dealer fixed it. AUGUST 2023. Engine needed to be sent for a full recon. Cost me R89 000 to fix it. I will never recommend anyone the buy a second hand car there. It was the first time in 8 years that I bought a car. Horrible experience. The sales manager is also no help. Never replies to any mails. Had to replace the battery again this month. R4500 later. Never...never buy here. Car is still not fixed 100%. Needs to go on again.

Good day Johan,

We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing some problems with the vehicle you purchased from us more than 12 months ago. We value your satisfaction and appreciate your feedback.

As you may recall, when you bought the vehicle from us, we provided you with a six-month warranty that covered any defects or malfunctions that may arise from normal use. We also assured you that the vehicle was in good working order and met all the safety and quality standards.

We understand that cars are complex machines that may develop issues over time, especially after prolonged use. However, we cannot be held liable for any problems that occur after a 12 month period has passed, or that are caused by factors beyond our control, such as accidents, misuse, neglect, or normal wear and tear.

We would like to remind you that we have already assisted you twice before with repairs as requested, and that we have always been willing to help you in any way we can. We hope that you can appreciate our position and that you will continue to enjoy your vehicle. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are always happy to assist you.

Good day,

I refer to the above: "we cannot be held liable for any problems that occur after a 12 month period has passed, or that are caused by factors beyond our control"

This is no problem that happened after a 12 month period. Let me enlighten you:

I picked up the car on the 26th of November 2022. The Sales manager assured me that the screen will be sorted. It was sent in but never fixed.

On the 5th of December 2022 I emailed Niki about the following issues: Screen still giving issues, brake light faulty(The car constantly gave me the notification), front brakes was worn out, (Apparently you did do a full check on the car before it was sold to me), The covers from the windscreen was coming off.

Side note: Brakes, covers and light bulb was replaced by dealer.

January 31st 2023 I replaced the battery that cost me R1650.

February 2nd my car broke down on my way to home. I had a flat bed come and pick me up, and sent back to you the following day. On my account.

Side note: You fixed that problem.

I took my car for a major service in May 2023.

August 28th. My car broke down again. Compete engine overall.

Please take note I sent the car to your mechanic at Exclusive City.

I read through the Engineering report that was done:

There is a dowel that was installed incorrectly. The dowel came out of position and landed between the oil pump gears, causing the gears to break and damage beyond a point where we can use it. Why the dowel came out of position is unknown but the damages that it caused is immense. The cambelt and oil pump drive belts are stripped and must therefore be replaced upon assembly.

My warranty covered R50 000. I paid R6727.50 for the Turbo and R32 732.62 for the rest of the work. So the total came to R39 460.12 that I needed to pay.

December comes, Another battery that needed to be replaced. Which cost me R4500. The car needs to be take in again next week because it is still faulty.

I pay R5300 rental a month for a car that continuously gives me problems. I am a sales manager and I cant do my work If my car keeps on braking.

The problem I have , from when I bought the car till now. I have had problems.

This car has almost cost me R400 000.

I refer to the above: " We understand that cars are complex machines that may develop issues over time, especially after prolonged use" - Please try and give me a better excuse than that: I bought the car with 82 500 KM on the clock, it now has 109 000KM on with all these issues and a engine overall.

Rgeards,

My car was given back last week Wednesday. Picked it up Friday. Drove on Saturday. Same problem. Vacuum pump valve needs to be replaced. My car has been in since Monday again.
I keep by my statement. Never buy a car here.
