SUB-STANDARD QUALITY WORK
My car was involved in an accident this year and my insurance recommended Excel Panel & Paint, and I didn’t do thorough research since they’re an “APPROVED” panel shop for my car brand. I have to say I’m very disappointed and felt let down by my insurance company (I canceled my contract with them because of this). The workmanship done on my car by Excel Panel & Paint was very appalling. It felt as if they were doing me a favor by repairing my car. It intrigues me what is their quality control policy because it one thing getting the job done and another where quality is concerned. I’ve had to return the car 7/8 times. Each time with a different issue that wasn’t picked up /sorted out during the initial repair. After so many ups and downs (mostly downs), my car was “fixed” but not up to standard. The quality and shoddiness of their work just beggar belief. It feels as if they had the mentality of “THAT WILL DO” when they were doing repairs to my car. I took the car for a valuation (manufacturer) and was shocked at the results. My car’s value dropped significantly, and the manufacturer cited the quality of the workmanship that wasn’t up to standard. From the paintwork that EXCEL PANEL & “PAINT” did on the car, all the way to some of the replacement parts that were fitted wasn’t correct. I believe that when a car is involved in an accident, and the repair job is completed perfectly, the value of the vehicle shouldn’t be drastically affected, as it was in my case. Since this is my first car, I would consider this to be a lesson going forward. * Make sure you thoroughly research a company recommended by your insurance company even if they’re an “APPROVED” panel beater shop * Inquire about the company’s quality control process in respect of services they render * Have a third-party value the car IMMEDIATELY after the repair job is completed
