Etihad is not the honest and responsive business the claim to be. We bought tickets with a 2 day hotel layover in Abu Dhabi, which was complimentary. The hotel was booked by the airline. When we arrived in Abu Dhabi late in the evening, we discovered the hotel was not booked and it was also full. Etihad basically left us stranded in Abu Dhabi with nowhere to sleep, even though we paid for the accommodation. We were not the only ones this happened to so, this was not an exception. They sold a product with no intention to fulfill it.
