Forced to pay 890AED for "extra two luggage pieces"
<p>My girlfiend and I visited my mother who is currently living in Abu Dhabi. We flew frow OR Tambo Int Airport on the 14th of December 2016 and would be travelling back on the 4th of January 2017. </p> <p>While flying from OR Tambo I was allowed two luggage pieces 2x 23kg each and my girlfriend only travelled with one luggage piece as she did not require more space while travelling to Abu Dhabi. There were no issuses with checking in at OR Tambo Airport. </p> <p> </p> <p>On the morning of January 4th while checking in at Abu Dhabi Int Airport we were told that we (my girlfriend and I) are only allowed on luggage piece each no more than 23kg per person. It clearly states on their website that all African flights excluding the Seychelles are allowed 2x 23kg for Economy class. We were then forced to pay 890AED which was roughly R3400 per luggage piece. </p> <p> </p> <p>This is unacceptable and I would at the very least like to receive a response to explain why we were charged for second bags and how you plan on resolving the issuse.</p> <p> </p> <p>Here is a link to the baggage allowances page on Etihad's website: http://www.etihad.com/en-za/before-you-fly/baggage-information/allowances/</p> <p> </p> <p> </p>
