Incorrect water account with no resolution after several attempts to resolve

Water Account ino R J Scheun Account ********** 5910

We recently sold our property and we are currently on an extended overseas visit. We have not been able to finalise and sort our our Water bill. After several visits to the Pinetown and Durban offices and several complaints logged with the custormer service desk we have still not resolved the matter. We have also spoken to several Managers who has done absolutely nothing.

Ref 160425/1760 ref 160425/1768 reg 160428/1727 and 160503/1474.

We received a bill on the 16th of April and our account was in credit of R1800. During this period we also pd an amount to the transferring attorneys who was busy with the transferring of the property into the new owners name. On the 24th of April we got an updated bill and this is when we noticed that something was wrong. The outstanding amount that we owed was R9500, this after being in credit of R1800 just a few days earlier. If you look our at monthly bill we used about 20 kl of water a month, however on the bill dd 24th April we had consumption of 259kl during the month of April. This is just not possible. We then visited the Pinetown office to log a call to have the meter fixed but to no avail. Several phone calls was made to the call centre but still no solution. When then visited the offices in Durban on the 28th of April, we spoke to two Managers who assured us the matter will be resolved but yet again nothing was done. We also told them that we are no longer living in the property and the water must be cut off but this too took about 10 days and during this period the bill just went higher and the final bill was R12 235.94. The meter at the house was faulty and despite several calls and complaints the matter received no attention. We are now expected to paid this amount which we will not do. During this period all the meters in our area was adjusted to make provision for the water shortage and this is when our meter became faulty. We should not be paying for others mistakes.

We are currently on holiday overseas, we can only be contacted by email **********
Mobile number provided is a NZ number +64 code
