CLOSING ROADS FOR A CYCLE RACE DURING A PANDEMIC IS IDIOTIC

Road closures have started again in the greater Durban area for some insignificant sporting event . On Sunday the 6th of June the key arterial roads leading into the Ruth First Highway was closed from about 8am to 3 pm because there was cycle race The closure for this long a period especially on a Sunday creates congestion and traffic is backed up all all around the City . As usual Metro vehicles are PARKED OFF without a care in the WORLD . POLICE metro management should take a hard look at themselves in the mirror . Clearly they have NO CLUE how to manage TRAFFIC in the CITY . WHY is a cycle race more important than the well being of motorists in the city . The CHAOS that was caused yesterday beggars belief . Why is there NO PLANNING in all of this . Why cant the Cycle race be held at the cycling track at MOSES MABHIDA stadium . Do you have to close the roads at all . Can somebody at ETHEKWINI explain why a cycle race is being held during a PANDEMIC when there is a LOOMING third wave . PLEASE WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE.
