Poor sales and after sales service from Estee Lauder. What a disappointment they are now!
I have had two bad experiences with Estee Lauder recently. On about the 15th of February 2018. I bought a cleanser from The Red Square store in Cresta. I wanted the Perfectly Clean foam cleanser and asked for it. I only realised I was sold the creme cleanser when I got home. The two bottles are identical, the differences stated are in small print, probably for cheaper production. Being far-sighted I did not notice this until I got home. I took it back, but they would not exchange it. The salesman had the audacity to try and sell me another product to rectify the unsuitability of the wrong product. I contacted customer service of Educon and got a reference number and never heard from them again. I still have the unused product. What a waste of my precious money. Then in May I ordered online from Estee Lauder. Order ********** 058. I ordered the "nude" lipstick set. When I opened it on reception I discovered I had been sold a lipstick with the name of "crystal baby". This is not what I wanted. I have used the "nude" and "intense nude" lipsticks from Estee L auder before and a lipstick by that name is always good for me. I wanted to return the product and obtained a form, which was completed and the product packed for contacted returning. I have contacted Estee Lauder customer care on 16 May, 17 May, 21 May, 23 May, 1 June and 4 June and have still not been assisted to return a wrong product. I am being stonewalled, being made fed up so that i just keep a very expensive, unsuitable product. My impression of Estee Lauder now wrongly or rightly is that it is a company that has little social conscience and the products are really expensive, but they don't care as long as they sell you something. You know... there are a lot of other products to choose from out there. I have threatened to take them to the Consumer Council and I will.
