MAC refuses 82 yo lady assistance for her birthday

My Mother turned 82 last week and today as a birthday treat I took her to have her hair coloured and cut, hands and feet manicured, to go shopping and have lunch. After her session at the hair stylist, as all her make up was washed off and she only had lipstick in her handbag which left her feeling rather unglamorous to go for lunch, the hair stylist suggested I take her to MAC, Rosebank which was close by so that they could put a bit of makeup on her and that she could also buy a couple of items from them that she needed for her makeup bag that she was running low on. So we went to MAC and I asked the assistant at the Mac shop if a makeup artist was available and she said yes. Then I asked if they could put a bit of makeup on my mother as she had just had her hair done and I wanted to take her to lunch. The shop assistant, her name is Jenny, told me she could not as she was going for lunch. She asked another shop assistant (who was in the back of the shop and I could not see) if she was available and the answer was no. I told Jenny that she was losing a sale as I would have bought makeup for my mother as a gift but she did not seem to care. The store was also dirty and unkept.
