Be warned

I had the misfortune of using an online travel agency eSky to book local SA flights. I believe they operate worldwide. To cut a long story short I booked the same flights twice. My error. I immediately advised the agency and was offered a refund. Less than what I had paid but, nonetheless, a refund of part of the costs. This was months ago. I have followed up frequently to no avail. I was advised that I needed to lodge an online complaint which I did. When I follow up - not having heard from them for months - I am advised to lodge another complaint ie complain about the complaint not being addressed! Or I’m told they are liaising with the airline. I asked if I could contact the airline directly. They gave me details but when I contacted the airline they advised that eSky had my money and I needed to go through eSky only. Lastly, please be advised that this agency has no offices (or claims to have no offices) worldwide. Although not impossible, it makes it very difficult and costly to sue them. So all I can do is warn others. There are many ways to book a flight. I suggest you do it directly with the airline itself. If you do use an online agent, I’d strongly advise against eSky. Learn from my expensive mistake. Safe travels
